I'd been to Fergusson many years ago for a friend's birthday party and I had good memories of the venue.
So, I bought the deal, booked the meal and off we went the following week.
A morning drive, via TarraWarra Museum of Art, and we arrived at Fergusson for lunch.
There was a large tour group there at the same time, but we were seated away from them at a window table overlooking the vineyard.
The rustic decor added to the charm - handmade tables, wine bottle chandelier and a shiny red phone box (remember those?).
A grape butter accompanied the house made bread on our table. We chose 2 entrees, Pork belly and Salt & Pepper Calamari. Our choice of mains, the Burger with Attitude (Lamb, feta, tabouleh) and the Fish of the Day (Salmon, sweet potato chips, salsa) arrived quickly, and I chose the Chardonnay to accompany mine.
A relaxing walk around the grounds after lunch and then it was time to head back home.
