Tassie Travels - Freycinet National Park

Basing our selves in a caravan park cabin in Bicheno allowed us another couple of days to explore Freycinet NP. Having seen a lot from the water the previous day, we put on our hiking boots and hit some easy trails.

Starting in Bicheno, we began our day with the Whaler's Lookout walk from town. A short, steep track led to views over the town, once an old whaling port.

Feeling invigorated, we hopped in the car and set off for Freycinet National Park.

On the eastern side of the park, we did the 20 minute Cape Tourville Lighthouse Walk, one of the Great Short Walks.
Gravel paths and wooden boardwalks took us on a circuit around the clifftop and back to the carpark, where we met these cuties.

Too wet and too late in the day to do the big walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout, we decided to go and get an early dinner instead.
We ended our day with fish burgers and local wines at Freycinet Lodge, added a few pieces to the giant jigsaw puzzle in the foyer and headed back to our accommodation for a good night's sleep.
