Parking next to the Sorrento Pier, we headed up the pathway to the old Steam Tram platform, used to take passengers from the pier to the back beach in the early 1900's. I read somewhere that there was a plan to get the old tram up and running again. Fingers crossed!
The views from the lookout are spectacular. You can watch the Queenscliff Ferry heading across the bay and view the stunning old sandstone buildings of Sorrento.
The Sorrento Park has great walking paths...
...glimpses of the bay...
...and a ping pong table. Tennis, anyone?
Gazebos, tables and barbecue for the foodies. Wildflowers, a giant Moreton Bay Fig (I think) and historic pine trees for the flora fans.
Down at the beach...
...you can hire a boat...
...throw a line off the jetty...
...or see how the experts go fishing,by watching the swans, pelicans and cormorants do their thing by the Sorrento Pier.
Finish your walk by finding a place to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the view - like this guy!
